A) To organise or provide or assist in the organisation or provision of facilities for the recreation or their leisure time occupation of young people who by reason of their social and economic circumstances have need of such facilities in order that their condition of life may be improved
B) To advance the education, including social and physical training of such persons
C) To relieve either generally or individually such persons who are also in conditions of need hardship or distress
For the next 4 years The Trust will actively target a small number of organisations e.g. schools /colleges best able to make small amounts of money deliver large impact for individual children and young people in need of support. These organisations will deliver support against an agreed framework and will be required to monitor and evaluate impact.
This aspect of our funding is not open to application but accessible by invitation only.
Small bursary grants aimed at individuals and managed through a targeted number of FE colleges initially in the East of England. This strand has been devised in response to the positive feedback received from previous individual recipients of our support. We believe colleges are well placed to identify where small bursary grants will make a great deal of difference. These institutions will each receive a grant to enable them to support individuals - they will be expected to account for how the money has been spent and the impact the investment has had. Again, this strand is not open to general application as the colleges for the first delivery period are being selected and confirmed.
A limited allocation of funds earmarked for open application for small groups of individuals. This third programme strand will operate within specific guidelines and require completion of a downloadable application template. Trustees hope to receive the right level of information and detail that is manageable to assess and not onerous to provide. This strand will hopefully attract applications where comparatively small requests will have serious impact - and is likely therefore to be appropriate for small groups or individuals.
